Why join us?
At Danske Bank, you’ll be part of the Connectivity Services team, which provides modern, secure, fast, and reliable services to around 20,000 employees and millions of customers worldwide. You’ll collaborate with skilled colleagues across Infrastructure and IT development teams, working on automation platforms that run our software-defined hybrid cloud and corporate network. You’ll join us during a pivotal transformation as we migrate from legacy VMware orchestration to Temporal.io, building durable workflow engines that drive network automation for thousands of users.
You will:
- Design and deliver DevOps tooling that enables thousands of employees to self-service network changes safely and quickly
- Co-own the network automation services (Temporal, Python/Django REST Framework/FastAPI, Celery, containerized on Openshift/EKS), driving their architecture and roadmap
- Build and maintain security-critical automation services (certificate lifecycle, firewall rule hygiene, threat mitigation) where reliability and correctness directly impact the bank's security posture
- Ship automation capabilities end-to-end — from API design through CI/CD to production monitoring
- Help us expand into hybrid and multi-cloud (AWS/EKS, Azure) with Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps practices.
Values & Mindset (what matters most to us):
- A strong sense of ownership and responsibility - you see things through to production and beyond
- Security-first thinking - you treat safe, sustainable practices as non-negotiable, not an afterthought
- A continuous improvement mindset - you consistently look for ways to make systems, processes, and yourself better
- Collaborative and proactive - you share knowledge, ask questions, and help the team succeed
- Analytical and solution-oriented - you break down complex problems and drive toward pragmatic solutions
- Python backend development with API-first design
- Workflow orchestration with Temporal.io (or strong interest in learning it) - designing activities, workflows, and worker architectures
- Demonstrated experience automating infrastructure at enterprise scale
- Experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
- Experience in AWS services design, management, configuration, and monitoring
Monthly salary range from 4960 EUR to 7440 EUR gross (based on competencies relevant to the role).
Additionally, each Danske Bank employee receives an employee benefits package, which includes:
- Growth opportunities: a professional and supportive team, e-learning, development programmes (including professional certificates) and 100+ professions for internal mobility opportunities.
- Health & well-being: a diverse and inclusive work environment that supports work–life balance, additional health insurance, mental well-being practices, partial psychologist counselling compensation, silence and sleep zones at the office, and game rooms.
- Hybrid working conditions: work from home up to two days a week, a home office budget (after the probation period), and a modern Danske Campus workplace designed with an anthropologist to support the best employee experience.
- Additional days of leave: for rest, health, volunteering, exams at higher education institutions and other important activities, plus additional days based on your seniority at Danske Bank.
- Monetary compensation package: accident and critical illness insurance, financial support in case of unfortunate events, travel insurance, and third-pillar pension fund contributions.
Your title in job contract will be Software Engineering.
