Legal Affairs for IP, Content & Digital Rights

Job Location: This position is based in Qatar

A senior leadership role responsible for the global protection, enforcement, and commercial optimization of the organization’s digital and creative assets and focuses on navigating the intersection of traditional copyright law and emerging technologies, including Generative AI and decentralized distribution.

Core Functions:

• IP Portfolio Strategy: Developing a unified global strategy for the acquisition, maintenance, and renewal of trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
• Digital Rights Governance: Overseeing Digital Rights Management protocols to ensure content is accessed only by authorized users across diverse platforms.
• Legal Innovation: Adapting corporate policies to address the legalities of AI-generated content, machine learning training sets, and synthetic media.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advisory & Counsel: Serving as the primary legal advisor to the C-Suite on IP risks associated with new product launches and content acquisitions.
• Complex Negotiations: Drafting and negotiating high-value licensing, merchandising, and distribution agreements with global tech platforms and media partners.
• Litigation & Enforcement: Managing external counsel in IP infringement cases and supervising investigations into large-scale digital piracy.
• Policy Advocacy: Representing the organization in industry coalitions to influence digital copyright legislation and international IP standards.
• Compliance: Ensuring all digital content meets regional regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: 10–15 years of experience in media, tech, or entertainment law, with at least 5 years in a senior management capacity.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law and passed a US bar exam(optional)
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced understanding of blockchain-based rights tracking, AI licensing frameworks and AI Content Governance, and digital watermarking technologies.
• Global Expertise: Proven track record of managing IP portfolios across multiple jurisdictions.
