Junior/Middle C++ Software Engineer (Networking)

About The Role

In this role, you will contribute to the development of next-generation network security products by working on a network intrusion detection system integrated into a firewall solution. As part of a distributed team extending the client’s engineering organization, you will tackle complex networking and security challenges while collaborating closely with experienced engineers across regions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain C/C++ components for network security products, ensuring reliability and high performance in Unix/Linux environments
• Own end-to-end implementation of features within a network intrusion detection system, directly impacting system stability, scalability, and security effectiveness
• Collaborate closely with client-side engineers, QA specialists, and internal team members to align technical solutions with product and business goals
• Analyze networking traffic and system behavior to identify root causes of defects and performance issues
• Perform in-depth troubleshooting across network and protocol layers using tools such as Wireshark
• Contribute to multithreaded application development, applying object-oriented design principles and best practices
• Participate in Agile/Scrum activities, including planning, daily communication, and iterative delivery
• Support continuous improvement of development processes, code quality, and technical documentation
  
  
  

Requirements

• Strong experience in C/C++ software development with at least 2 years of hands-on practice
• Solid knowledge of Standard Template Library containers and object-oriented programming principles
• Experience building and maintaining multithreaded client/server applications
• Understanding of networking technologies and TCP/IP stack, including MAC, ARP, IP, TCP/UDP, HTTP/S, DNS, and DHCP
• Practical experience with Unix/Linux operating systems and network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark
• Effectiveness in communication in English within a distributed, multicultural team
• Analytical mindset with a structured approach to problem solving and root cause analysis
