Your Opportunity

As the Human Resource Advisor, you will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of high-quality, reliable and client-responsibe human resource services to regional staff, operating efficiently within a high-functioning HR team.

Our HR team has two (2) Permanent, Full-time, AO4 Human Resource Advisor positons available. The positions are be based primarily at our Ashmore campus and you will be required to perform work accross our TAFE Queensland, Gold Coast region campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality, solution-oriented, responsive and reliable services and advice to TAFE Queensland Gold Coast people leaders and staff on a range of human resource functions including:
    • Interpretation and updates to relevant employment legislation, including Award and Agreement conditions, Public Service Commission Directives, and TAFE Queensland Policies
    • Recruitment and selection
    • Establishment management
    • Human Resource operational policies, procedures and delegations
    • Human Resource Information Systems management and procedures
    • Staff training and professional development policies and procedures
  • Extract and manipulate human resource management data and provide regular reports on the performance of a range of human resource administration functions and activities to assist managers in their business operations.
  • Utilise a range of computer software packages in the production of reports, briefing notes, email communications and general written correspondence.
  • Develop and update role descriptions in consultation with key stakeholders and arrange job analysis questionnaires, Job Evaluation Management System (JEMS) evaluation and related processes.
  • Actively contribute to the development, documentation and implementation of quality procedures ensuring human resource best practice.
  • Manage multiple and conflicting priorities, meet set deadlines, and have a high level of attention to detail in performance of work tasks.
  • Provide comprehensive project administration support including:
    • support for project planning e.g., arrange meetings and consultation events.
    • undertake research to source information and collect data.
    • implement project activities as directed.
  • develop and proactively foster effective working relationships with key project stakeholders.
  • Undertake research and development on matters relating to human resource service and business functions.
  • Ensure day to day activities align with human resource service operational and client-responsive priorities.

How You Will Be Assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  • Demonstrates a sound knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire a sound knowledge of contemporary human resource management practices through interpretation of legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Project administration skills, including the ability to define project tasks, set priorities and coordinate activities effectively to meet competing deadlines
  • Demonstrates sound research, analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to develop options and solutions to meet human resource management needs.
  • Demonstrates competence in the operation of computerised systems and demonstrated ability to manipulate data to draw and analyse reports as requested.
  • Displays well developed interpersonal, oral and written communication, negotiation and consultation skills including the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships to contribute effectively to team activities and achieve outcomes within agreed timeframes.


Requirements

While there are no mandatory qualifications for this position, a qualification in Human Resource Management and demonstrated experience in an HR generalist role would be highly regarded.
