Employee Relations Advisor

Hays
Australia · Full-time · Mid-Senior

Reporting to the Employee Relations Manager, the Senior Employee Relations Advisor plays a key role in delivering high-quality employee and industrial relations outcomes across a complex, multi-sector operation. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role partnering closely with leaders at all levels to support compliance, negotiation of agreements, dispute resolution, and ER/IR strategy.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations practitioner to consolidate and further develop their ER/IR capability within a large, operationally diverse mining services environment. You will broaden your exposure to enterprise bargaining, industrial frameworks, policy development and strategic ER initiatives, while continuing to build depth as a trusted ER/IR specialist.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Support and contribute to enterprise agreement negotiations, working collaboratively with the Employee Relations Manager, broader People team, unions, employee representatives and key stakeholders across multiple sectors
  • Act as a trusted ER/IR specialist, providing expert advice and guidance across a broad range of employee relations matters
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the People Team, Operations and senior business leaders
  • Contribute to and support delivery of large-scale ER/IR projects and strategic initiatives
  • Monitor and interpret changes in industrial legislation, regulations and best practice to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Lead the development and implementation of IR-related policies and procedures, including reform initiatives
  • Support HR Services, HR Managers and operational leaders through development of standard ER tools, systems and processes
  • Assist the Employee Relations Manager and National Workplace Relations team on matters before the Fair Work Commission and other jurisdictions, including preparation of materials and data
  • Manage end-to-end remuneration and reconciliation reviews, drive process improvement and deliver recommendations to senior leadership

To be successful in your application, you will possess demonstrated experience providing Employee Relations and Industrial Relations advisory support within complex or operational environments, coupled with a tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Business Law. You will have experience supporting and contributing to enterprise bargaining processes, including engagement with unions and employee representatives, and a strong capability to deliver practical, commercially informed ER/IR advice. You will be a solutions-focused individual, who is both resilient and flexible, and have previously worked ideally within the resources or a related sector in a large or complex organisation.
