About the Role:

Job Title – Java & Kotlin Developer

Location – Sheffield, UK

Mode of Work – Hybrid (3 Days Onsite Per Week)

Type of Hiring – Fixed Term Employment (FTE)

Project Duration – 6 to 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Skills:

Mandatory Skills: Java, Kotlin

Skills:

• Experience in Kotlin and Java
• Experienced in at least two or three of the following API development SQL databases HTML JavaScript
• Lots of experience of working with microservices
• Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills
• Experience in working with Agile including the use of Jira Confluence
• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong English skills written and spoken

Responsibility:

• Collaborate with developer’s testers and the wider organisation to build and run products
• Design develop implement backend features as per backlog priority with a small element of frontend development
• All apps use a simple UI framework so not strictly frontend development
• Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features
• Proactively work with customers to resolve their issues and respond to feature requests
• Build APIs and microservices
• Work in an agile CICD environment to deliver rapid iterations at a sustained velocity
• Be an active member of a team participating in peer reviews and in testing others code through automated test scripting

Optional nice to have:

• Good working knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS Azure and GCP
