Senior DevOps Specialist — Azure & Kubernetes (Hybrid/Remote, Canada)

About the Role

A major Canadian federal institution is looking for a Senior DevOps Specialist to join a Banking Operations Applications team. You'll own the release engineering toolchain, harden CI/CD pipelines, and run containerized workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service — all inside an enterprise environment where availability and resiliency are non-negotiable.

What You'll Do

• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps supporting continuous integration, testing, and deployment
• Design, deploy, and operate containerized applications for portability, scalability, and efficient resource use across environments
• Deploy and manage AKS clusters — health, scaling, performance, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting
• Develop release scripts, manage environments, and automate deployment processes end to end
• Resolve complex operational issues by applying deep knowledge of business applications and supporting infrastructure
• Drive operational excellence through automation, tooling improvements, and DevSecOps best practices
• Collaborate within scrum teams, share knowledge, and support technical issue resolution
• Use GitHub for version control, collaboration, and code management

Required

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years in applications development and systems integration
• 7+ years in DevOps/CI/CD — DevSecOps, version control, artifact management, build pipelines
• 5+ years hands-on with Microsoft Azure services
• Strong experience with CI/CD tooling: GitHub, Nexus, Jenkins, Tekton, Argo CD, Azure Container Registry, Azure DevOps
• Build automation and dependency management with Maven and/or Gradle
• Proven track record automating and streamlining enterprise processes
• Extensive experience supporting enterprise production systems with a focus on resiliency and availability
• Hands-on AKS and/or Red Hat OpenShift

• Configuration management with YAML overlays, Kustomize, Helm
• Certificate-based application authentication
• Tools like CyberArk, AppviewX
• Message queues — AMQ, Spring Integration
• SQL, Java, Unix scripting, Node.js
• French language skills
