Senior Embedded Systems Engineer - Robotics / C / Microcontroller / Ethernet / CAN protocols

We're working with an early stage robotics start-up who have just closed a very successful funding round and now have some impressive growth plans over the next 12 months.

They're seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join them predominantly onsite in Zurich on a permanent basis.

As a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer you will be focused on integrating and optimizing new sensors, communication networks, and PCBAs tailored for varied robotic functions, and the designing and implementation of automated tests (amongst numerous other tasks)

What we look for is:

• A minimum of 7 years of industry experience in real-time embedded software development.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, proof of exceptional skills in related fields with practical software engineering experience, or equivalent.
• Ability to write production-level code in C.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and analyzing circuit behavior.
• Strong understanding of microcontroller peripherals, Ethernet, and CAN protocols.
• Skilled in working with sensors and digital signal processing.
• Experienced in managing the physical and data link layers of Ethernet and other communication protocols.

Any of the following would be considered a plus:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline, or an equivalent amount of research experience.
• Familiarity with design for mass production.
• Experience in the robotic, automotive, aerospace, medical, and consumer electronics sector.
• Experience in managing an embedded systems team.
