ABOUT THIS ROLE

SENIOR DATAWAREHOUSE MIGRATION CONSULTANT (SNOWFLAKE / VERTICA)

Enterprise Gambling Project

Domain: Data / Analytics / Data Platforms

Location: Baltics preferred, Poland (nearshore) as a secondary option

Work type: Remote / Hybrid (flexible, depending on location)

Duration: 3 + 3 months (possible extension depending on delivery progress)

Seniority: Senior Consultant (5+ years in enterprise-level data migration projects, strong ownership, mentoring mindset)

We are looking for a Senior Datawarehouse Migration Consultant to join a high-end, ambitious Pan-European gambling enterprise project.

The core mission is very clear and hands-on: migrate large-scale data (terabytes and more) from Vertica to Snowflake, while redesigning and rebuilding data loading processes to fully leverage Snowflake capabilities in a modern cloud-based environment.

You will work as a consultant in a team of 4–5 strong engineers, driving the migration, making technical decisions, and ensuring high-quality delivery. While tools like Snowflake SnowConvert can assist in transformation, this role requires deep understanding of datawarehouse architectures, relational databases, and real-world migration challenges.

This is not a “tool-driven” task — this is an engineering-driven transformation.

DO YOU HAVE (MUST-HAVE SKILLS)...

• Practical proven experience (5+ years) in enterprise-level datawarehouse migrations and transformations
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake in production environments
• Strong practical experience working with relational databases and analytical data platforms
• Proven experience migrating from one datawarehouse platform to another (Vertica experience is a strong advantage)
• Strong hands-on experience rewriting and optimizing data loading pipelines (ETL/ELT) during migrations
• Ability to understand, validate, and adapt auto-generated conversion logic (e.g. SnowConvert)
• Strong understanding of data modeling, performance optimization, and large-scale data processing
• Experience working with very large datasets (terabytes scale)
• Strong ownership mindset with ability to drive technical decisions independently
• Fluent English (spoken and written) for international collaboration

BONUS SKILLS...

• Hands-on experience with Vertica
• Experience with Snowflake SnowConvert or similar migration tools
• Background in high-load or data-intensive industries (e.g. gambling, fintech, telecom)
• Experience mentoring or leading less senior engineers
