Scrum Master

Profectus is seeking to engage a Scrum Master to support a significant Australian Government program of work spanning capability acquisition and sustainment, agile delivery, program management and ICT transformation.

The Scrum Master leads agile teams through scrum activities, working closely with the Release Train Engineer, Product Managers and delivery stakeholders to enable predictable delivery, maintain delivery discipline, and drive continuous improvement within a secure Australian Government environment.

Duties

• Facilitate scrum ceremonies and embed consistent application of Agile and SAFe practices across teams
• Support delivery planning, backlog refinement, sprint execution and PI-level activities
• Coach teams in Agile principles, ways of working, and Definitions of Ready and Done
• Manage delivery metrics, dependencies, risks and impediments through to resolution
• Support ART-level ceremonies, governance forums and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain delivery hygiene across Agile tooling, reporting and assurance artefacts

Required skills and experience

• Scrum Master, Agile Coach or Delivery Lead role experience
• Practical knowledge of Scrum and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Hands-on use of Agile tooling (JIRA / Atlassian suite)
• Software delivery and development lifecycle exposure
• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and problem-solving skills
• Secure, regulated environment experience
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable

• Government or other highly secure environments
• Leading SAFe® certification or equivalent
• Experience supporting PI Planning and ART-level ceremonies in a scaled agile setting
• Project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2 Agile, PMBOK)

Location

• Onsite (no hybrid or WFH arrangements)
• Canberra (ACT) at Australian Government premises.

Security Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen.
• Hold and maintain a current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance (minimum).
