Product Owner

Location: Oslo, Norway or Remote (EEA/UK based).

Travel: Flexible mobility required for occasional on-site collaboration.

The Role

As a Product Owner, you will take full accountability for your product roadmap, overseeing day-to-day operations, project execution, and risk mitigation. You will act as the primary cross-functional bridge, collaborating with leadership and technical teams to serve as the definitive "go-to" expert for your product.

Our Product team owns the end-to-end customer experience. We specialize in transforming complex challenges into simple, scalable solutions by aligning design, engineering, and data with legal, risk, and compliance frameworks. This is a high-impact position involving significant internal stakeholder interaction and strategic alignment, and occasional engagement with clients for product discovery and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Roadmapping: Define your team’s goals and success metrics. Use data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback to build and maintain a high-impact roadmap.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Lead products and features through the entire lifecycle - from ideation and development to launch, growth, and long-term maintenance.
  • Technical Partnership: Engage in technical discussions with engineers, covering everything from architectural implementation to managing technical debt.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with leadership and specialized internal stakeholders, including KYC, Legal, and Commercial teams.
  • Market Intelligence: Perform data analysis and market research to maximize product impact and ensure alignment with the company strategy.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding of revenue drivers (pricing, usage models, and unit economics) to translate product capabilities into compelling customer value propositions.

Your Experience

  • Industry Expertise: 3+ years of experience in a high-growth environment (FinTech, Payments, or Open Banking) or within a similarly highly regulated industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: 3+ years of experience managing technical products, such as platforms, distributed systems, data science, machine learning, or APIs.
  • Product Ownership: 3+ years of experience owning or managing products within a data-driven organization, including a proven track record of developing and launching products from scratch.
  • Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of PSD2 or other global Open Banking standards.
  • Strategic Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English skills, with experience presenting product visions and synthesizing feedback from leadership, customers, and partners.
  • Operational Mindset: A strong bias toward action and a "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude to drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Regional Expertise: Experience developing financial products specifically for the Nordics region.
  • B2B2C: Experience with B2B2C product lifecycles
  • Nordic language: Proficiency in a Nordic language is an advantage, though English remains the main working language.
  • Decisive Leadership: Experience leading in high-pressure environments where clear direction is essential.

What Success Looks Like: Your First 6 Months

  • Become the Expert: You are the "go-to" person for all questions regarding bank integrations and product features.
  • Set the Strategy: You’ve built a clear 18 – 24 month roadmap that is approved by leadership and gives the tech team a clear direction.
  • Deliver Results: You have launched at least one major project and are already tracking its impact through data.
  • Listen to Users: You’ve interviewed current and potential customers and turned their feedback into actionable ideas in the product roadmap.
  • Build Partnerships: You’ve established direct feedback loops with three key clients to help guide the product's future.

What we offer

  • Flexibility & Autonomy: A high degree of flexibility with the option to work remotely or from our modern HQ in Oslo.
  • Dynamic Environment: An engaging, diverse, and international culture with a variety of social activities to keep us connected.
  • World-Class Facilities (Oslo): When you’re at the office, enjoy a private gym, roof terrace, fantastic canteen, food court, and onsite shops.
  • Commuter Friendly: Secure bicycle garage with a dedicated repair station for those who prefer a green commute.

About us: Neonomics began with a simple but ambitious idea: to build better infrastructure for financial services. Founded in Oslo, we set out to eliminate the data and payment silos inherent in legacy financial systems—barriers that made innovation costly, slow, and complex.

With PSD2 as the catalyst, we built a modern, high‑performance foundation for the open economy—one that transforms raw banking data into real value. Today, we’re unifying access to financial services across Europe through one of the most secure, high‑performance open finance platforms on the market. Our name means “new economy”, reflecting our mission to deliver intelligent, real‑time financial services that make payments seamless, data powerful, and personalized finance a reality.
