Position Summary
We are seeking a UX-focused UI/UX Designer to join our growing Product team. The ideal candidate will focus on deeply understanding user behavior and improving the product experience through direct user engagement and insight-driven design. This role will regularly interact with end users, gather feedback, and translate insights into meaningful product improvements. You will collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to influence what we build and how it works, ensuring our applications deliver intuitive, efficient, and high-impact user experiences across Definity’s enterprise web and mobile applications.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular user interviews, usability testing, and feedback sessions to understand real-world workflows and pain points.
- Translate user insights into actionable design recommendations that influence product decisions and priorities.
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using tools such as Figma.
- Partner with product managers to co-create solutions, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Simplify complex, data-heavy workflows into intuitive and efficient user experiences.
- Develop interactive prototypes to validate ideas before development.
- Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure designs are implemented effectively, with a focus on usability and functionality.
- Contribute to and maintain a scalable design system and component library aligned with Definity’s brand.
- Ensure designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG compliance) and support a wide range of users.
- Analyze product usage data, support feedback, and user insights to continuously improve the experience.
- Advocate for UX best practices and a user-first mindset across the organization.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in UX-focused product design, ideally in SaaS or enterprise applications.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX thinking, including user research, workflows, and problem-solving.
- Proven experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, and translating feedback into product improvements.
- Expert-level proficiency with Figma (or similar tools).
- Strong understanding of usability principles, interaction design, and information architecture.
- Experience designing complex, data-driven applications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence product and engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing for healthcare or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, React).
- Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system.
- Exposure to product analytics tools to inform design decisions.
