The Opportunity

Our client is a globally recognised product house operating at scale across multiple international markets. Their engineering team operates across multiple locations globally, and this role sits at the heart of keeping that platform running reliably and giving developers the tools to ship with confidence.

This isn't a role where you inherit a stable environment and manage the backlog. You'll have real ownership over the infrastructure that powers the platform, the pipelines developers ship through, and the observability tooling that keeps everything visible and actionable. It's a small team with a modern stack and the autonomy to shape how infrastructure is delivered.

AI isn't a future initiative here - it's already embedded in how the team works.

What You'll Be Doing

Managing and optimising production Kubernetes (EKS) and ECS environments to ensure the platform remains reliable and scalable. Owning CI/CD pipelines built on Buildkite and GitHub Actions, enabling development teams to ship code safely and quickly. Designing and maintaining infrastructure as code using Terraform and Helm across AWS and Cloudflare. Building observability infrastructure in Datadog including SLO definition, distributed tracing, and alerting that reflects real customer impact. Developing self-service tooling and platform capability that reduces friction for developers.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering role with genuine infrastructure ownership
• 2+ years managing Kubernetes in production at cluster level, ideally EKS
• Strong AWS fundamentals across ECS, IAM, VPC, RDS, Lambda, and S3
• Terraform experience at module authorship level across multiple environments
• Hands-on CI/CD pipeline ownership, ideally including Buildkite or GitHub Actions
• An observability mindset with experience diagnosing real production issues through monitoring tooling
• Clear communication and the ability to operate autonomously across a distributed team

Helpful But Not Essential

• Helm and Argo CD for Kubernetes application delivery
• Cloudflare infrastructure experience
