About Your New Job
- As the Machine Vision Engineer you will support the assessment, design, installation, and maintenance of automated inspection solutions using Machine Vision and Image Processing technologies.
- You will contribute to the design and development of vision system architectures (hardware and software), under guidance from senior engineers.
- You will develop and configure vision applications using Cognex, Keyence, or similar platforms, supporting software and algorithm development as required.
- You will commission, test, troubleshoot, and support new and existing manufacturing equipment integrating vision systems.
- You will participate in data handling, performance optimization, and support validation/benchmarking of vision solutions.
- You will work hands-on with automation, electro-mechanical systems, robotics, and computer hardware/software in a production environment.
What Skills You Need
- Level 8 NFQ qualification (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in machine vision, automation, or equipment engineering roles (graduate-level experience may be considered).
- Practical exposure to machine vision platforms (Keyence XG/XGX or Cognex In-Sight, Designer, VisionPro) and basic image processing concepts.
- Ability to code or configure software applications (C#, VB, C/C++), understanding communication with PLC- or PC-based control systems.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred: Experience in regulated manufacturing (medical devices, pharma), knowledge of equipment validation, and automation/robotics exposure.
