About The Role

Tidal Cyber is seeking a highly skilled Principal Frontend Engineer to lead and enhance our SaaS frontend platform as we scale for rapid growth. This role is pivotal in shaping the user interface and experience, serving as the primary expert on UI development. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting technical direction, making strategic decisions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality features at a fast pace. This position offers hands-on ownership, requiring a proactive individual who excels in ambiguous environments, enjoys building from the ground up, and is passionate about creating seamless, efficient user experiences. As a key member of the engineering team, you will collaborate closely with product managers and designers to turn ideas into polished, functional interfaces, while also establishing best practices and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing modern web applications
• Deep expertise in React and TypeScript
• Strong product instincts with a focus on user experience
• Proven track record of owning frontend systems in early-stage or high-growth startups
• Ability to make fast decisions and iterate quickly under uncertainty
• Solid understanding of frontend performance optimization, state management, and architecture tradeoffs
• Experience collaborating closely with designers and backend engineers in small, dynamic teams
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and lead discussions
  
  

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the frontend architecture and codebase, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
• Develop and ship end-to-end features with a focus on quality and user experience
• Collaborate with design and product teams to transform ideas into intuitive interfaces
• Establish and promote lightweight, effective development patterns, tooling, and best practices
• Identify and address technical debt strategically to maintain a robust platform
• Mentor and lead engineers through hands-on coding, technical guidance, and fostering a collaborative culture
• Contribute to shaping the engineering culture and processes as the team grows
