Role – Azure Cloud Engineer (Azure Networking & Load Balancer Focus)

Role Overview

We are seeking highly skilled and proactive Azure Cloud Network Engineers with strong technical expertise and hands-on experience managing, operating, and optimizing enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure. The ideal candidates will demonstrate deep capabilities across cloud automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD, scripting, and core Azure platform services, with proven experience supporting production-grade, highly available Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, manage, and operate Azure infrastructure including virtual networks, compute, storage, identity, and security services in large-scale environments.
• Azure Networking & Load Balancing Design, implement, and operate Azure networking solutions including VNets, subnets, NSGs, UDRs, Azure Firewall, NAT Gateway, Private Endpoints, and Private Link.
• Architect and manage Azure Load Balancer (Standard & Internal), Application Gateway (WAF v2), Azure Front Door, and Traffic Manager for highly available and scalable workloads.
• Lead L4/L7 load balancing strategies, traffic flow design, health probes, backend pools, and resiliency patterns.
• Troubleshoot complex connectivity, latency, routing, and load-balancing issues across distributed Azure environments.
• Hybrid & Enterprise Connectivity Design and support hybrid networking using ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, BGP, routing policies, and on-prem-to-Azure connectivity.
• Ensure secure and optimized connectivity between Azure, on-premises data centers, and third-party networks.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated and repeatable Azure infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform and/or Bicep).
• Own day-to-day infrastructure reliability, availability, and performance, including capacity planning, scaling strategies, and lifecycle management of Azure resources.
• Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments, preferably using GitHub Actions.
• Architect, deploy, and support applications and workloads across production, non-production, and DR Azure environments.
• Develop automation and operational tooling using Python, Node.js, Java, or PowerShell to reduce manual effort and improve infrastructure efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application, security, SRE, and platform teams) to deliver Azure solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across Azure infrastructure, networking, automation pipelines, and deployments.
• Ensure Azure infrastructure adheres to security, governance, compliance, and cost-optimization guidelines.

Required Hard Skills

•Strong hands-on experience managing Azure infrastructure in large-scale or enterprise environments, including compute, storage, networking, identity, governance, and monitoring

•Advanced Azure Networking skills, including routing, VNet architecture, hybrid connectivity (VPN/ExpressRoute), Azure Firewalls, load balancing, and security controls

•Proven experience operating production Azure environments, including incident troubleshooting, performance tuning, and availability management

•Proficiency in coding/scripting using at least one of the following: Python, Node.js, Java, or PowerShell

•Strong experience with Azure Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or Bicep

•Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions, for infrastructure and platform deployments

•Solid understanding of Azure identity and access management (Entra ID/Azure AD, RBAC, Managed Identities)

•Experience implementing and enforcing Azure governance using policies, blueprints/initiatives, tagging standards, and cost management

•Proven track record supporting highly available, secure, and scalable Azure environments
