We are seeking a highly skilled Senior UI/UX Frontend Engineer to join our client's engineering team on a contract basis in New York, NY. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a renowned Fortune 500 technology company, contributing to the development of scalable, high-performance web applications. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the frontend architecture, enhancing user experiences, and ensuring the delivery of robust, maintainable, and innovative web solutions. This position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about cutting-edge frontend technologies and eager to make a significant impact within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in UI/UX engineering, frontend development, or related architecture roles. Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern CSS frameworks such as Tailwind CSS is essential. Candidates should have a proven track record of building large-scale web applications or high-traffic user platforms, along with experience in developing and scaling component libraries and design systems. A solid understanding of state management tools like Redux Toolkit or Zustand, as well as familiarity with Next.js, including server-side rendering and modern rendering strategies, is required. Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities are necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience with authentication frameworks such as SSO, OAuth2, or SAML, real-time application development using WebSockets, and knowledge of micro-frontend architectures. Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments will be considered a plus.
Responsibilities
The Senior UI/UX Frontend Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications utilizing React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. This includes building and managing application state with modern libraries, creating reusable component libraries, and establishing design systems to ensure consistency across platforms. The role involves implementing component-driven development practices using Storybook, architecting micro-frontend or module federation-based solutions, and optimizing applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability. Additionally, the engineer will integrate frontend interfaces with backend systems via REST and GraphQL APIs, leveraging Next.js features such as App Router, Server Components, and server-side rendering strategies. Collaboration with UX designers, backend engineers, and product teams is vital to ensure seamless user experiences. The role also emphasizes maintaining high code quality through best practices, thorough code reviews, and comprehensive testing strategies to uphold the integrity and performance of the applications.
