Chief Technology Officer

Chief Technology Officer | Financial Services | Sydney based | 5 days in Office | Executive Leadership.

This is a critical leadership role within a high-growth, non-bank lending business operating at the intersection of capital, risk, and technology.

This is not a step up role and requires a seasoned CTO with Board/PE level experience. 

The platform is live, scaled, and processing significant transaction volumes across B2B lending and working capital products. With continued growth across markets and increasing regulatory complexity, the business is now focused on strengthening engineering execution, platform reliability, and delivery predictability.

It is a delivery-first, execution-focused engineering and technology leadership position responsible for ensuring the technology function operates as a disciplined, high-performing production system, aligned to commercial outcomes and capable of scaling with the business.

As CTO, you will own the end-to-end engineering function, including delivery, platform performance, infrastructure, and operational reliability.


You will be responsible for:

• Driving predictable, high-quality engineering delivery across a distributed team
• Ensuring platform stability, resilience, and performance in a high-transaction, regulated environment
• Scaling technology to support continued growth in lending volumes and product complexity
• Aligning engineering execution with commercial, risk, and regulatory priorities
• Leading and developing engineering, platform, DevOps, and security capabilities
• Owning technology governance, compliance, and audit readiness
• Working closely with executive leadership and the Board to communicate technology performance, risk, and investment priorities.

Ideally, you will bring:

• A strong engineering background with the ability to engage deeply with architecture, platform design, and delivery
• Proven experience running high-availability, transaction-heavy systems
• A track record of improving delivery predictability, platform reliability, and engineering performance
• Experience operating in regulated environments with clear accountability for risk, compliance, and audit requirements
• Demonstrated success leading distributed engineering teams
• Experience working closely with Boards, CEOs, and executive stakeholders, with the ability to translate technology into commercial impact
• Experience within Non-bank lending, B2B lending / working capital, Payments or credit infrastructure and/or Loan management or credit decisioning systems
