The Bucharest Centre of Excellence, comprising 300 consultants, is dedicated to Front Office and Risk Technology services. Consultants based on this location benefit from mentoring provided by established industry experts and gain exposure to a diverse range of leading clients, including major investment banks, asset management firms, and globally recognised hedge funds.

About The Programme

Our Front Office and Risk teams operate across the full Software Development Lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering and solution design through to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. As part of our partnerships with various clients, we are currently expanding our teams to keep pace with the rapid growth in this business.

Regarding the Front Office Tech team, our consultants gain exposure to a variety of projects across asset classes as well as coverage areas, such as but not limited to Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and Commodities.

• This work often involves close interaction with trading desks, contributing to the development, enhancement, and optimisation of pricing, trading, and booking systems often in a low latency context
  
  
  

Our Risk Team consultants contribute across key areas such as system architecture, data integration, and risk model implementation, and performance optimisation, with a primary focus on market, credit, and liquidity risk platforms.

• This provides exposure not only to technical delivery but also to the underlying risk methodologies and regulatory frameworks that drive these systems
  
  
  

Roles & Responsibilities

The consultant will be working closely with key business stakeholders, development, and analytical teams to understand the business requirements and work towards enhancing our clients in Front Office, eTrading & Risk Management Systems.

Main responsibilities will include developing code, blending it together to be run under single scenario, building various algorithms, along with investigating and explaining differences in results between potential legacy and newly developed systems.

Key Skills

Necessary:

• Strong backend Python engineering experience (5+ years)
• Experience with numerical or analytical libraries such as NumPy and Pandas
• Experience in using toolkits such as Flask, Fast API, and Django
• Experience delivering the full SDLC, including system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and performance optimisation
• Strong problem-solving mindset and capability of delivering robust software solutions with time sensitivity
  
  
  

Nice to have:

• Previous experience in capital markets (either etrading or Risk)
• Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including the deployment and management of applications
• Exposure to using AL/ML techniques and tools, with experience applying them to real-world problems
• Experience with high throughput applications where performance optimisation is critical
