About the Opportunity

We are seeking a metrics-driven, hands-on Contract IT Scrum Master to provide disciplined delivery support across multiple high-priority IT workstreams. Operating within our IT Program Management Office (PMO) and reporting directly to the Director of IT PMO, you will be responsible for driving structural execution, establishing consistent sprint cadences, and maintaining extreme toolchain hygiene.

This role is designed for an execution-focused practitioner who goes beyond basic meeting facilitation. We need a Scrum Master who actively engineers Azure DevOps (ADO) environments to provide high-signal delivery visibility, manages dependencies across technical teams, and aligns external technology vendors to a predictable delivery velocity.

Core Responsibilities

• Ceremony Facilitation & Scaling: Direct core Scrum ceremonies (Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, and Sprint Planning) initially across a subset of 2–3 complex IT workstreams, with the capacity to scale to 4–5 as ecosystem proficiency is demonstrated.
• Azure DevOps (ADO) Governance: Own backlog hygiene within ADO. Maintain real-time workflow status accuracy, manage item updates, and enforce strict sprint/backlog organization to ensure data integrity.
• Metrics & Dashboard Engineering: Build, configure, and maintain advanced ADO queries and custom dashboards. Deliver actionable data indicators (throughput, flow efficiency, and delivery health metrics) tailored for both engineering squads and executive sponsors.
• Dependency & Vendor Management: Partner with Project Leads to ensure backlog readiness. Identify, track, and proactively remove technical impediments while coordinating with external technology vendors to ensure their deliverables align with the internal sprint cadence.
• Agile Mentorship: Coach cross-functional teams, product owners, and business stakeholders on Agile roles, responsibilities, and structural best practices to support continuous improvement.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Experience: 4+ years of dedicated experience as a Scrum Master (or equivalent Agile delivery role) deeply embedded within complex IT and systems engineering environments.
• Technical Tooling: Advanced, hands-on proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO)—specifically Boards management, sprint configuration, custom query building, and dashboard engineering.
• Workstream Scope: Proven track record of concurrently managing deliverables and dependencies across multiple technical workstreams.
• Communication & Translation: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively with Product Owners, engineering teams, and third-party technology partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Recognized Agile credentials such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM).
• Prior experience working within a formal IT PMO structure during large-scale enterprise system integrations or ERP migrations.
