Platform Engineer

Data Engineer (m/f/d) Python / SQL, / Microservices / Banking / 100% / Zurich

Project: An experienced Senior Engineer is sought for the further development of a central CORE platform in the banking sector. The focus is on the development of microservices and data-driven applications along the operational value chain – from data management to trade processing.

Responsibilities:

• Development and further development of microservices on the CORE platform
• Implementation of data-driven applications with a focus on analysis and visualization
• Working with Python in the backend and integrating .NET / C# components
• Development and optimization of SQL Server / T-SQL based data solutions
• Further development of the existing Plotly Dash application (“Sustainalyzer”)
• Close collaboration with specialist departments in the banking/trading environment
• Ensuring high-performance, stable, and scalable solutions. Optional tasks:
• Integration and adaptation of standard software into existing system landscapes
• Evaluation of new technologies and tools for platform optimization
• Participation in cross-departmental projects and initiatives

Requirements:

• Several years of experience (12+ years) in software development
• Completed university degree (University/University of Applied Sciences) in computer science, mathematics, financial mathematics or comparable field.
• Excellent knowledge of core skills: Python, SQL / T-SQL / SQL Server and microservices architectures
• Good knowledge of: .NET / C#, Plotly Dash or comparable visualization tools
• Experience with: Git, Bash, CI/CD (e.g. Azure DevOps)
• Ideally, experience in the banking or trading environment.
• Understanding of data flows and end-to-end processes (Data → Processing → Trade)
