A leading university located in Canberra is seeking a Information Security Engineer for a permanent opportunity. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and architecture, development, implementation and operation of systems and network assets within the IT infrastructure.

Your new role

Reporting to the Manager, Cyber Engineering and CISO, you will be dealing with a range of complex, sensitive information, and work towards team outcomes. Some of your day-to-day duties will include:

• Design, implement and manage a range of system and network tools to address complex information and cyber security issues
• Produce, coordinate, and provide advice, assistance, policy, standards and guidance on information and cyber security matters to stakeholders
• Analyse, and review cyber and information security activities or data to contribute to the identification of security issues, improvement of security posture and meeting the needs of stakeholders
• Provide, apply and communicate subject matter expertise and clear direction through presentations, consultation and reporting for both technical and non-technical audiences

What you'll need to succeed

You will have experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary teams. Your key competencies will include:

• Deep knowledge of VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi), VMware vSAN, and VMware vMotion/DRS/HA
• Proven experience in one or more of the following areas: information security, system administration, systems engineering, cyber security monitoring, incident response
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: EDR platforms, SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Management, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
• NV1 or NV2 security clearance
