Carhartt WIP is part of the WIP Trading AG. Our family-owned business group started as a licensee and European distributor of the US workwear manufacturer Carhartt in the early 1990s. Since then, it develops its own collections based on workwear originals.
Carhartt Work In Progress aims to continuously progress and evolve, without ever losing sight of its origins. Over the course of the past three decades, our business has developed organically, along with its customers, the culture that surrounds the brand, and its employees who have helped shape what Carhartt WIP is today.
For our office in Basel, we are looking for you as Designer (m/f/x) to support our Apparel Design Team.
Your Responsibilities

- Own a deep understanding of the current collection and evolve it with smart updates, while spotting opportunities for new, relevant styles
- Visualize ideas fast — from sketch to clear design concepts
- Support the seasonal build-up, merchandising and overall structure of the collection
- Use insights from Marketing, Sales and Merchandising to refine the product, ensuring every piece aligns with the brand vision
- Confidently present inspiration, concepts and product evolution
- Drive product development end-to-end — from first technical drawings to final fittings
Your Profile
- Degree in fashion design or comparable education
- Relevant experience within textile/apparel design industry
- Willing to travel frequently
- Strong interest in apparel and design as well as strong eye for colours and fit
