Senior Network Engineer

We're working with a leading European aviation safety and air traffic control authority, dedicated to ensuring secure and efficient flight operations for people and the environment, both in the air and on the ground.

The Role

  • Design, build, and maintain data networks
  • Identify new requirements, areas for improvement, and organize their implementation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues with a forensic approach
  • Monitor technological advancements and contribute to system architecture design
  • Participate in large projects or lead network-related projects
  • Create documentation and procedures for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support
  • Conceptualize and design highly available and security-critical network architectures

What You'll Need

  • Technical university degree with a focus on computer science, network technology, or telecommunications
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, ideally in 2nd/3rd-level support, service, or systems engineering
  • Proficiency with scripting/programming languages and Linux operating systems
  • Product knowledge and experience with Cisco or Juniper products (certifications are a plus)
  • Knowledge of Layer-2/Layer-3 tasks/functions/protocols, common transport and application protocols, routing functionalities, Cisco/Juniper specific protocols, and experience with Multicast-Routing (PIM Sparse Mode)
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and able to think interdependently, abstract complex issues, and explain them clearly
