Senior Mobile Tech Lead – Kotlin Multiplatform & AI Governance

Our client, a leading organization in the public transport sector, is seeking an expert to drive the technical refactoring of their mobile application ecosystem. The project focuses on establishing robust architecture, implementing cross-platform solutions, and integrating AI-driven governance into the delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Define the target technical architecture to ensure the mobile solution remains robust, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Lead the initial project setup phase including development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and Git branching strategies.
  • Drive the technical implementation of Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), managing code-sharing between mobile platforms.
  • Establish development standards, coding conventions, and quality frameworks to streamline the software lifecycle.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation and onboarding guides to facilitate rapid team integration and autonomy.
  • Support functional analysis by validating technical feasibility and collaborating with product owners on feature definition.
  • Implement an AI governance framework to leverage generative AI tools across analysis, development, and testing phases.

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in software development with a specialization in Mobile ecosystems.
  • 5+ years experience as a Tech Lead on large-scale mobile projects.
  • You possess advanced knowledge of Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) with a track record of implementation in production.
  • You bring expert-level proficiency in Android development and a solid understanding of native iOS environments.
  • You have a deep understanding of mobile architecture and the ability to design scalable, sustainable solutions.
  • You bring 3+ years experience executing Sprint 0 activities, including CI/CD and DevSecOps for mobile apps.
  • You have demonstrated experience using AI tools to accelerate analysis, development, and testing processes.
  • You're proficient in utilizing collaboration and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • You bring strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with Flutter to evaluate and challenge cross-platform technical choices.
  • Prior involvement in public transport, mobility, or real-time application projects.
  • Professional certifications in mobile development, software architecture, or AI.
  • Willingness to obtain additional certifications in cloud or emerging technologies.
  • Working knowledge of French, Dutch, and English.

  • Location: Brussels
  • Working model: Hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite)
  • Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers
