Junior React Developer

We are partnering with a Dutch financial services group to support a long-term strategic mandate. At JHC Consulting, we believe that deep analysis demands precise tools. To help our principals and clients scrutinize complex corporate governance and strategic cases, we build bespoke, highly functional web applications. We are looking for a Junior React Developer to join us in bringing clarity to financial and structural data. This is a permanent, full-time position offering attractive and competitive pay for an entry-level professional. Working in a hybrid capacity, you will split your time between home-based development and weekly in-person review sessions at our shared workspace, ensuring you receive direct mentorship while enjoying the flexibility of remote coding.

In This Role
As a developer, your primary work is translating analytical concepts into clean, legible web interfaces. You will write structured, well-tested React code to display organizational hierarchies, financial flows, and written reports. Since our advisory work centers on written argument and rigorous reading, you will build tools that focus on reading layout and clean information hierarchy, avoiding heavy decoration, bloated templates, or unnecessary features.
You will work closely with our technical leads and advisory principals to turn data tables into logical, interactive views. A typical week involves refining UI components, discussing design trade-offs, studying product requirements, and writing detailed, clear pull request descriptions. Every decision you make in code should be purposeful and documented.

What You Bring
We do not expect years of professional engineering experience, but we look for a disciplined mind and a strong technical foundation. To succeed in this entry-level position, you should have:

• A firm grasp of React, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS. You should be comfortable building clean components and managing frontend state logically.
• Excellent written communication. Writing is thinking, and we value documentation as highly as we value clean code. You can explain technical trade-offs clearly in writing.
• An eye for clean layout and typography. You care about rendering complex data in a way that remains comfortable to read for long periods.
• Familiarity with Git and standard developer workflows.
• A patient, analytical approach to solving problems. You are comfortable reading structured specifications and tracing bugs back to assumptions.
• An interest in corporate governance, institutional finance, or strategic research is helpful but not required.
