Back End Developer

HireStakes is hiring for a Junior Backend Developer (Sports Trading) based in Lisbon.

Our client is a sports betting services company building real-time trading infrastructure that aggregates odds and liquidity across multiple sportsbooks into a single platform.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain scalable backend APIs for real-time sports trading
• Design, optimize, and manage databases
• Work within a small engineering team (3–4 people) on high-performance systems
• Handle high-frequency data flows and real-time execution challenges

What we're looking for

• 2+ years of backend development experience
• Strong SQL, Node.js, and TypeScript skills — these are required
• Comfortable with Git and standard version control workflows
• Experience in Rust or Python is a strong bonus
• Background in trading or finance is a plus
• Sports knowledge is a plus
