The Opportunity
We're advancing the science of adaptive intelligence — how AI systems learn, adapt, and improve continuously from real-world experience. That mission rests on three pillars: continual and lifelong learning, reinforcement learning, and representation learning. ACI is our first major expression of this work, but the research frontier is far wider, and we're looking for an early researcher to help push it. This is a high-ownership, founding-level role: the ideas you develop will shape both the field we're building and the core of our technology — and you'll share in the upside through potential equity in the company. Role Description
We are seeking an AI Researcher focused on adaptive intelligence for a remote role open to candidates based in Türkiye. You will investigate how models can learn and adapt continuously — spanning continual/lifelong learning, reinforcement learning, and representation learning — design novel algorithms and methods, run rigorous experiments, and turn promising research into working systems. This is a hands-on role for a researcher who genuinely understands how models learn and can train them — not someone who only orchestrates agents. You'll work closely with a small, multidisciplinary team, set and pursue a research agenda, and code fluently with modern AI coding editors to move quickly from hypothesis to result.
What You'll Do
- Research and develop novel methods across continual/lifelong learning, reinforcement learning, and representation learning
- Tackle core challenges such as learning without catastrophic forgetting, adapting policies from feedback and interaction, and learning robust, transferable representations
- Design, run, and analyze rigorous experiments; train, fine-tune, and evaluate models
- Translate research breakthroughs into prototypes and production-grade systems
- Collaborate directly with founders, shaping both the research direction and the product
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field
- Depth in one or more of: continual/lifelong learning, reinforcement learning, or representation learning — with breadth across the others
- Proven research ability: designing experiments, developing novel methods, and rigorously evaluating results
- Deep understanding of how AI models learn, with hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, and evaluating neural networks
- Fluency coding with AI coding editors (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to prototype and iterate quickly
- Ability to translate research into working systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and the drive to thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage, remote environment
- Ph.D. or Master's in CS, AI, ML, or a related field preferred but not required — exceptional self-taught researchers are welcome
- Publications or open-source contributions in continual learning, RL, or representation learning are a plus
- Experience with high-performance computing and GPU optimization is a plus
- Agentic AI understanding and hands-on experience building agentic systems is a strong plus
