Job Purpose
The Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures across Azure, Google Cloud (GCP), and on-premises HCI platforms (VMware & Nutanix NCM). The role ensures robust cloud governance, automation, security compliance, and alignment with business and technology objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Cloud & Hybrid Architecture Delivery
- Design and implement multi-cloud solutions across Azure and GCP aligned with performance, cost, and scalability requirements.
- Architect and maintain hybrid-cloud environments integrating on-premises data centers with cloud platforms.
- Design and operate HCI platforms (VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, and Nutanix NCM/AHV).
- Lead cloud modernization, migration, and transformation initiatives.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, and GCP Deployment Manager.
- Develop cloud landing zones, networking architectures, and identity/security integration.
- Support multi-cloud workload deployment, containerization, and VM-based compute models.
- Ensure resilient architectures with HA/DR, backup, and failover strategies.
- Manage daily cloud operations, monitoring, and incident response.
- Troubleshoot complex hybrid/multi-cloud issues across compute, network, and storage.
- Review architectural documents, diagrams, and solution designs.
- Deliver technical design documents, governance frameworks, and presentations.
- Provide guidance for migrations, including AVS (Azure VMware Solution) and GCVE (Google Cloud VMware Engine).
- Communication / Documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on cloud and hybrid architecture requirements.
- Create detailed architecture blueprints, cloud standards, and operating procedures.
- Maintain documentation for cloud deployments, changes, governance, and audit requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Problem Solving & Optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on cloud and hybrid architecture requirements.
- Create detailed architecture blueprints, cloud standards, and operating procedures.
- Maintain documentation for cloud deployments, changes, governance, and audit requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions.
Knowledge, Experience & Requirements
- 5 years' experience in Azure Cloud management
- 3 years' experience in Google Cloud management
- 3 years' experience in Cloud Virtualization management and High Availability management
Job Specific Technical Skills
- Deep knowledge of networking: VNET/VPC design, routing, subnetting, VPN, ExpressRoute, Interconnect, load balancers, firewalls.
- Multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud architecture expertise.
- In-depth experience with HCI platforms: VMware & Nutanix NCM.
- Strong proficiency in automation & IaC (Terraform, ARM, Bicep, Deployment Manager).
- Expertise with cloud security, identity, governance, Zero Trust, and compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in monitoring tools, observability, and cloud operations (Azure Monitor, GCP Operations Suite, vRealize, Nutanix Prism).
- Strong documentation, design, and communication skills.
