Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager – Consultant to lead and manage a portfolio of strategic IT projects within the banking and financial services domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects while ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, stakeholder alignment, and compliance with organizational standards.
The candidate should possess strong project governance, risk management, vendor coordination, stakeholder communication, and IT delivery expertise with proven experience in banking technology projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Portfolio Management
- Manage multiple IT projects from initiation to closure.
- Ensure project execution follows organizational IT project management methodology.
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
2. Stakeholder Management
- Build strong working relationships with internal business units and IT teams.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders, project sponsors, and management.
- Ensure effective communication across all project stakeholders.
- Manage expectations and align business requirements with project deliverables.
3. Vendor & Third-Party Management
- Manage vendor engagements and contractual deliverables.
- Coordinate with external vendors, consultants, and service providers.
- Ensure SLA adherence and timely delivery of vendor obligations.
4. Risk, Scope & Governance Management
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Control project scope and prevent scope creep.
- Ensure project governance and compliance with internal standards.
- Support audit and regulatory requirements.
5. Project Planning & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain:
- Project Initiation Documents (PID)
- Project Plans
- Status Reports
- Risk Registers
- Closure Reports
- Track project progress and escalate issues proactively.
- Present regular updates to senior management.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate across:
- Infrastructure Teams
- Application Teams
- Security Teams
- Business Units
- Vendors
- Ensure smooth collaboration between departments.
7. Financial & Resource Management
- Monitor project budgets and resource allocation.
- Support cost management and financial planning.
- Track project expenditures and optimize resource utilization.
8. Compliance & Security
- Ensure confidentiality and protection of project-related information.
- Comply with organizational security policies.
- Support internal and external audits.
9. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead project teams effectively.
- Resolve team conflicts and resource challenges.
- Promote collaboration and accountability.
- Support professional development of team members.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Engineering
- Business Administration
- Related Discipline
Preferred Education
- MBA / Master’s Degree (Preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 8+ years of IT Project Management experience.
- Strong experience in Banking and Financial Services.
- Proven track record in delivering enterprise IT projects.
