AML/KYC Junior Manager

pawaTech is looking for an AML/KYC Junior Manager with a proactive mindset, strong ownership, with confidence to make decisions and a passion for building efficient compliance processes. As part of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing AML/KYC operations, improving workflows, driving operational analytics, contributing to cross-functional projects, and participating in the review and implementation of our compliance strategy.

Compensation range: €3000 - €3300 monthly gross.

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing day-to-day AML/KYC operations, ensuring customer onboarding and reviews are completed accurately and in line with regulatory requirements;
• Overseeing KYB, CDD, EDD, ongoing monitoring, and sanctions/watchlist screening activities;
• Reviewing and approving complex or high-risk cases, providing guidance on escalations and investigations;
• Supporting the development and continuous improvement of AML/KYC processes, procedures, and internal controls;
• Collaborating with Product, Tech, and Operations teams to enhance compliance tools, workflows, and third-party integrations;
• Monitoring regulatory developments and helping implement updates to internal policies and risk frameworks;
• Identifying operational inefficiencies, recommending practical improvements, and contributing to compliance-related projects;
• Supporting the AML/KYC Manager by mentoring analysts, sharing knowledge, and helping the team grow as the function scales.

What makes you a great candidate:

• 3+ years of experience in AML/KYC, including hands-on exposure to corporate due diligence (KYB);
• Strong understanding of AML regulations, KYC/KYB processes, customer risk assessments, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD);
• Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise work, allocate resources, and make balanced operational decisions while considering regulatory requirements, business objectives, and risk;
• Experience handling complex customer verification cases and making sound risk-based decisions;
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a structured approach to problem-solving;
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain compliance decisions clearly to different stakeholders;
• Comfortable working independently, taking ownership, and driving initiatives in a fast-paced environment;
• Organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high quality standards;
• Proficient in Excel and data analysis, with experience using compliance or case management tools.

Extra expertise we appreciate:

• Experience in the iGaming, FinTech, or Blockchain industries;
• Familiarity with SQL or blockchain analytics tools;
• ICA, ACAMS, or similar AML/Compliance certifications;
• Experience working across developing markets such as Africa, Latin America, or Asia;
• Exposure to workflow automation or improving internal compliance tools and processes.
