Network Engineer

pawaTech is looking for an experienced Network Engineer with a collaborative mindset and deep expertise in designing, managing, and securing enterprise networks. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our global network infrastructure across data centers, office locations, and remote sites. You'll play a key role in building scalable solutions, maintaining secure connectivity, and proactively optimizing network operations.

Compensation range: €4000 - €5000 monthly gross.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and stability;
• Configuring and maintaining network equipment, firewalls, VPNs, and proxy services;
• Managing secure connectivity between offices, cloud services, and remote users;
• Troubleshooting network issues, including connectivity, routing, access, VPN, and performance;
• Supporting PBX and VoIP services, including user connectivity, call routing, softphone configuration, and voice quality issues;
• Monitoring network health, identifying potential risks, and responding to incidents;
• Documenting network configurations, changes, and operational procedures;
• Collaborating with infrastructure, security, and operations teams on networking initiatives.

What makes you a great candidate:

• 2–5 years of experience in network engineering, network administration, or a similar role;
• Good understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and firewall concepts;
• Experience with VPNs, firewalls, and proxy services;
• Familiarity with FortiGate or similar next-generation firewall solutions;
• Understanding of PBX and VoIP technologies, including SIP, extensions, call routing, softphones, and voice quality troubleshooting;
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills;
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams.

Extra expertise we appreciate:

• Experience with FortiGate, IPSec VPNs, BGP, or proxy technologies;
• Experience with network monitoring platforms such as Checkmk, Zabbix, or similar tools;
• Experience troubleshooting voice quality issues such as latency, jitter, and packet loss;
• Scripting or automation experience (Bash, PowerShell, or Python);
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Fortinet FCA/FCP, or equivalent;
• Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
