Position: Java Developer - Mid-level

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Hybrid: 2-3 times a week on the client´s office

Candidates must possess European nationality or a valid work permit for Belgium

Mandatory Languages: One of the national languages (Dutch and French) must be the mother tongue, and the other language must be understood and readable

Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Mid-level Java Backend Developer with experience in building scalable and efficient backend systems. You will be responsible for enhancing and optimizing our core backend services and applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable, efficient backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate;
  • Implement microservices architectures and integrate with external systems via RESTful APIs;
  • Write automated tests using JUnit and Mockito;
  • Optimize backend performance and ensure high availability;
  • Collaborate with frontend developers and cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions;
  • Follow Agile practices, participate in sprint planning, and review tasks.


Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in Java Development
  • Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate;
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and related tools (Docker, Kubernetes);
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB);
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitLab;
  • Experience in building RESTful APIs and implementing security protocols (e.g., OAuth2, JWT);
  • Familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native architectures.
