Position: Senior Java Developer

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Hybrid: 2-3 times a week on the client´s office

Candidates must possess European nationality or a valid work permit for Belgium

Mandatory Languages: One of the national languages (Dutch and French) must be the mother tongue, and the other language must be understood and readable

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to lead complex backend projects and provide technical guidance to the development team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Java and modern backend architectures and will be a key player in shaping our technology strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and modern microservices architectures;
  • Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions;
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices;
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD and deployment pipelines;
  • Optimize application performance and ensure system scalability and reliability;
  • Stay updated with industry trends and new technologies.


Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and microservices architecture;
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or similar cloud platforms;
  • Proven experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, and automated testing frameworks;
  • Expertise in building high-performance, highly available systems;
  • Ability to mentor and lead development teams;
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
