Position: Technical Architect

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Hybrid: 2-3 times a week on the client´s office

Candidates must possess European nationality or a valid work permit for Belgium

Mandatory Languages: One of the national languages (Dutch and French) must be the mother tongue, and the other language must be understood and readable

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance, and innovative technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a passion for emerging technologies, and expertise in modern architectural patterns. As a Technical Architect, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that solutions align with business needs while adhering to industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and define scalable architectures for enterprise applications, including microservices, serverless architectures, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend cutting-edge technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance system performance and scalability.
  • Develop technical blueprints, guidelines, and documentation to guide the development team in implementing solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, product owners, and developers, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure the integration of systems and services through the design of APIs, message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and other communication protocols.
  • Lead discussions around DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Promote and implement security best practices, including zero-trust architectures, encryption, and secure coding standards.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot architectural issues, and optimize solutions for scalability and reliability.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, and blockchain to ensure the organization remains competitive and innovative.
  • Mentor developers and junior architects, providing guidance on technical challenges and architectural decisions.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Architect or similar role, with at least 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong expertise in modern backend frameworks and languages (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, Go).
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including serverless technologies like AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
  • Solid understanding of architectural patterns like microservices, event-driven architectures, and domain-driven design (DDD).
  • Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
  • Experience with database design for SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) systems.
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies and their integration (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
  • Strong understanding of API design principles, including REST, GraphQL, and gRPC.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI), and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of security best practices, including OWASP guidelines, identity management (e.g., OAuth, SAML), and encryption techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound architectural decisions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Architect).
  • Experience with emerging technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, and blockchain.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
