Our client is seeking a skilled Android Developer to join their team for a 12-month project, focused on developing secure, enterprise-grade Android applications for everyday banking. The successful talent will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining native Android applications using Kotlin, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability. This hybrid role, based in Sydney, requires a proven track record in developing robust Android applications with a focus on security practices.

The ideal talent will have expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack and the Android SDK, staying current with the latest Android development practices. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD processes, and testing automation is essential. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver mobile solutions that align with the client’s digital product strategies.

Key Activities:

• Android App Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, secure Android applications using Kotlin, focusing on performance, scalability, and security.
• Expertise in Android SDK: Apply advanced knowledge of the Android SDK, incorporating the latest features and development practices to enhance app quality and user experience.
• RESTful Services Integration: Implement RESTful API integrations, ensuring seamless communication between mobile applications and backend services.
• Source Control Management: Utilise advanced source control management techniques, including Git and Gitflow, to maintain code quality and ensure efficient collaboration.
• Agile Collaboration: Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement within the development team.
• CI/CD & Testing Automation: Implement CI/CD practices and leverage testing automation strategies to support continuous integration, delivery, and high-quality product releases.

Your Background:

• Android Development Expertise: Proven experience in developing enterprise-grade, native Android applications using Kotlin and Android Jetpack, with a focus on security and robust functionality.
• Android SDK Mastery: Advanced skills in using the Android SDK and a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest Android development practices.
• RESTful Services Knowledge: Solid understanding and experience in integrating RESTful services to enhance mobile application functionality.
• Source Control Management: Expertise in managing source control with Git and Gitflow, ensuring efficient version control and team collaboration.
• Agile Development Experience: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and prior experience working within Agile teams.
• CI/CD and Testing Automation: Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and exposure to testing automation frameworks to streamline deployment and ensure quality.

Preferred:

Digital Banking or Financial Services Experience: Previous experience in digital banking or the financial services sector, with an understanding of industry-specific security and compliance requirements.
