Our customer in Antwerp is looking for 3 experienced Cybersecurity Specialist – Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) with a strong background in evaluating and mitigating cybersecurity risks across all domains, particularly in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, and Entra ID. This role involves conducting comprehensive cybersecurity assessments throughout the M&A lifecycle, identifying risks, and ensuring regulatory, legal, and compliance compliance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud security, governance, risk management, and post-merger integration strategies. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to protect the organization’s investments and ensure seamless integration of acquired entities.
Key Responsibilities:
Cybersecurity Assessments for M&A Activities:
• Perform detailed cybersecurity assessments for acquisitions based on a standardized security framework.
• Identify risks in domains such as governance, infrastructure, data protection, applications, and identity and access management.
Cloud Security Assessment:
• Assess cloud environments (e.g. Azure, AWS, Entra ID) for vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and compliance deviations according to policy
• Analyze security posture using cloud-native tools (e.g. Azure Security Center, AWS Security Hub) and third-party solutions.
Risk Management and Reporting:
• Analyze and communicate cyber risks to stakeholders with actionable insights and mitigation strategies.
• Develop detailed risk assessment reports and integrate findings into a risk register.
Compliance and Regulation:
• Ensure compliance with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, and other global standards.
• Validate that cloud and on-premises environments meet required security and compliance requirements.
Post-merger integration:
• Lead integration initiatives to ensure acquired entities comply with group security policies and practices.
• Develop and execute integration roadmaps for securing IT infrastructure, data, and operations.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
• Collaborate with M&A teams, IT groups, and business stakeholders to align cybersecurity priorities.
• Clearly communicate technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
Required Competencies:
Technical expertise in cybersecurity:
• In-depth knowledge of security principles in domains such as infrastructure, networking, data protection, and application security.
• Hands-on experience assessing and securing cloud and hybrid environments.
Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A):
• Proven ability to identify risks throughout the M&A lifecycle.
• Understanding of the unique challenges and time-sensitive nature of M&A activities.
Risk Management:
• Expertise in analyzing and quantifying cyber risks and proposing effective mitigation plans.
Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of global standards such as GDPR and their application in M&A scenarios.
Communication and Leadership:
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain risks and technical concepts to non-technical teams.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Extensive experience in cybersecurity in multinational organizations.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AWS Security – Specialty, or Azure Security Engineer are a plus.
