PHP Developer

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced PHP Developer to join our team on an exciting journey of developing and optimising our client-facing portals, admin portals, and core trading platforms.

Based in Melbourne, this role focuses primarily on backend development, ensuring the scalability, robustness, and efficiency of our systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy backend services that drive trading operations while delivering seamless user experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend architecture using PHP and Laravel, optimising performance and scalability.
• Build and manage RESTful APIs, ensuring smooth integration with frontend services and third-party applications.
• Design and optimise database structures for high availability and performance using MySQL (or equivalent).
• Seamlessly integrate backend systems with external services and automate processes to streamline development and deployment.
• Implement security best practices, regularly review protocols, and ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in backend development, contribute to the team's knowledge sharing, and continuously improve development practices.

Technical Skills:

• Proven experience in Full Stack Development with a focus on PHP, React.js (JavaScript/TypeScript), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong proficiency in Laravel (or Symfony) and experience in developing complex algorithms to solve business problems.
• Demonstrated experience in API development and integration with backend systems.
• Expertise in MySQL database management, ensuring efficient data processing and handling large datasets.
• Strong understanding of coding best practices, including SOLID principles and secure authentication mechanisms such as OAuth.
• Experience in cloud services (AWS/Google Cloud) is advantageous, with a focus on scalability and performance.
• Proficiency in Git for version control and remote collaboration using tools like Slack, JIRA, and Confluence.
