Technical Lead - Embedded Systems

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Lead to lead the development and implementation of advanced features across multiple device driver teams. This role will be pivotal in delivering essential embedded software components for a diverse range of products. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical leadership and will be responsible for the design, testing, and documentation of device drivers for internal use.

This will be a full-time role based out of our clients cutting-edge R&D facility in Cork. We can offer a hybrid working model, but not full-remote.

Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the development and management of embedded drivers and related features.
• Architect, develop, test, and document robust device drivers.
• Foster collaboration and communication across multiple engineering teams.
• Drive innovation and optimize existing development processes.

Qualifications:

• Substantial experience in SoC development and/or architecture, ideally within the compute or mobile industry.
• Comprehensive understanding of operating system kernel functionality, device driver development, and embedded systems architecture.
• Demonstrated proficiency in C programming and data structures, including experience in kernel-level development.
• Exceptional debugging and problem-solving abilities within kernel environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with processor architectures such as ARM or RISC-V.
• Knowledge of key system concepts, including memory management, virtualization, and inter-processor communication.
• Experience with various hardware components, such as CPUs, memory controllers, and peripherals.
• Understanding of system-level concerns, such as power management, security, and boot processes.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) or low-level languages (e.g., Assembly, C++).
• Knowledge of debug architectures.
