Compiler Engineer – LLVM / GCC / C++

We are looking for a Compiler Engineer to join a world leading semiconductor powerhouse at their site in Cork.

You will contribute to open-source compiler toolsets, enabling software development for high-performance silicon. This role involves optimizing code generation, enhancing tool usability, & improving support for AI & machine learning applications.

As a Compiler Design Engineer your responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to open-source projects such as GCC, LLVM, & glibc to optimize compiler performance.
• Identify & implement improvements in code generation, benchmarking, & system efficiency.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate new silicon features into compiler toolchains.
• Enhance usability & functionality of developer tools based on user feedback.
• Explore advanced CPU optimization techniques for machine learning & AI workloads.

As a Compiler Design Engineer your skills will include:

Required

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in compiler frameworks like GCC or LLVM
• Strong programming skills in C/C++
• Experience contributing to open-source projects

Desired

• Master’s or PhD in a relevant discipline
• Proven contributions to open-source compiler development
• Strong understanding of computer architecture & optimization techniques
