Full Stack PHP Developer

Location: Bucharest, Romania

Job Type: Full-Time, Employment Contract

Work Environment: Office-based (one day/week wfh)

Our client is a leading payment and transactional services provider in Romania, facilitating a wide range of services including utility bill payments, mobile top-ups, and financial transactions through an extensive retail network.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of professional experience in PHP development.
• Proven track record with the Symfony PHP framework and other PHP-based frameworks.
• Competency in front-end technologies including JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
• Strong database management skills with PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Familiarity with Docker and basic container orchestration is preferred.
• Experience in a Linux environment and proficiency with GIT are considered pluses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy both new and legacy applications that align with our business goals.
• Participate in making architectural decisions and applying design patterns effectively.
• Develop applications using PHP, with a strong command of PHP version 5.6 or higher.
• Utilize PHP CLI and various console-based PHP utilities.
• Experience with Symfony framework (version 2.4 or newer) is essential.
• Manage dependencies with tools like Composer and other PHP CLI libraries.
• Integrate and develop REST APIs and other services (SOAP, custom services); additional experience in this area is a plus.
• Thorough understanding of HTTP protocols and web application architecture.
• Apply object-oriented and procedural programming techniques as required by the project.
• Employ MVC design patterns and adapt to other design styles when necessary.
• Develop front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with an understanding of frameworks like jQuery, Vue.js, etc.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in PostgreSQL (8.2+) and MySQL; familiarity with database design and procedure development is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Docker Compose.
• Familiarity with client-server architectures including web servers like Apache or Nginx and PHP-FPM process management.
• Optional but beneficial skills include Linux CLI environment and version control with GIT.
