Senior Backend Developer (.NET & Azure Microservices)

We are hiring a Senior Backend Developer (.NET & Azure Microservices) to contribute to the development of a Digital Wallet platform within a regulated payment environment.

In this role, you will work closely with the CTO and play an important part in building and evolving the backend systems that support financial transactions. The focus is on delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing services, while collaborating with Product and Operations teams to ensure correct implementation of business logic.

Role details

• Permanent employment (CIM)
• Location: Bucharest – Pipera
• Hybrid: 2 days/week in the office
• Onboarding period: 4–5 days/week on-site during the first 3 weeks
• Salary: 16,000 – 18,000 RON net / month

What you will be doing

• You will design and build backend services using .NET Core (6/8), with a strong focus on microservices architecture and scalable system design
• You will work extensively in a microservices environment, ensuring reliable communication using Azure-native tools (Service Bus, Functions, Event Grid)
• You will take ownership of code quality by actively participating in code reviews and correctly interpreting feedback to improve implementations
• You will apply secure coding practices at application level, ensuring proper handling of sensitive financial data and compliance with security standards
• You will manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes using Azure DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes (AKS), as part of a DevOps-oriented workflow
• You will collaborate with Product and Operations teams to validate business logic and support complex payment scenarios
• You will design and optimize SQL Server databases, ensuring performance and data consistency in high-volume environments

What we are looking for

• Strong experience with .NET and backend development, with a solid track record in building microservices-based systems
• Good understanding of application security and experience applying security principles directly in code
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience participating in code reviews and working with feedback to improve code quality
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services (App Services, Key Vault, Storage Accounts)
• Experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations (e.g., KYC providers, payment gateways)
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and maintaining high unit test coverage

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, banking, or payment-related environments
• Knowledge of PSD2, PCI-DSS, or OWASP standards
• Experience with Angular is considered a plus
• Azure certifications such as AZ-204 or AZ-305
