Position Overview
The Project Manager II is responsible for building relationships and executing mid to long-term operational plans and strategies for technological solutions, products or projects within a business unit/function/region.
The Project Manager II will analyze complex issues and increasingly contribute to developing innovative solutions, processes and methods aligned with shifts in the marketplace and strategies, and work independently, receiving some operational and strategic direction regarding complex issues.
Responsibilities
- Autonomously manage moderate to large projects, from start to finish, within time, cost, scope and quality constraints
- Use project management best practices and apply company policies, processes, and procedures in managing projects. Share best practices with colleagues
- Develop and implement a project plan; Manage progress and performance; Identify, resolve, and escalate
- project issues and risks to meet project deliverables
- Ensure that all resources required for the project execution are identified and secured
- Manage relationships, communications and negotiations with customers and stakeholders (internal/external), and be the voice of customer
- Manage the activities of outside contractors, within the terms set out in the subcontract
- Conduct project reviews and prepare regular reports to present within and beyond the project team including executive level
- Identify business opportunities with customer and propose solution to address customer needs
Qualifications
- University undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Business Administration, Commerce, or in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Applied Sciences) or commensurate work experience
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong knowledge of product lifecycle and project management
- Knowledge of CAE technical and operational practices, procedures, and products
- PMP certification or equivalent accreditation is required
- A clear sense of urgency to achieve results and an ability to think proactively, collaboratively, and independently
- A positive “Let’s make it happen” attitude with a focus on creating positive customer experiences
- An innovative mindset and focus on providing creative problem-solving skills through consulting multiple sources and people
- A team player that welcomes new ideas and improvements
- Accountability to continuously look for areas of improvement to consistently deliver efficient and optimal results
- Strong communication and leadership skills with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a deadline driven environment
