For this role, we're working with a music-integrated mobile gaming studio based in Leamington Spa. The studio is pioneering a new rhythm-based game that merges music, storytelling, and social interaction. Founded by experienced professionals from the gaming and music industries, the company has secured strong financial backing and aims to change how players interact with music through games.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Programmer to join this creative team. You’ll help design and maintain the backend infrastructure of a groundbreaking rhythm-based mobile game. The role is open to both remote and Leamington Spa-based candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Integrate server-side logic with frontend systems
• Optimize system performance and scalability
• Implement data protection and security best practices
• Troubleshoot and debug backend issues
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions
• Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Backend Programmer or similar role
• Strong proficiency in C#
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Google Cloud Platform
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, backend scaling, and security
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the gaming industry
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding of microservices architecture
