Embedded Software Engineer – Aerospace | EOIR Satellite Imaging Systems

Toulouse, France | Full-time | On-site

Join the heart of Europe’s aerospace innovation. We’re seeking a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to the development of Electro-Optical/Infrared (EOIR) satellite imaging systems, supporting advanced space-based surveillance and Earth observation technologies for our client. This is a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of aerospace systems, combining embedded software engineering, hardware integration, and high-performance imaging.

What You'll Do:

As a key contributor to our client's aerospace projects, you’ll be responsible for developing and testing embedded software components that run on mission-critical EOIR systems. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration, perform system-level debugging and analysis, and develop tools to automate verification and data analysis processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and unit-test embedded software components for aerospace systems
  • Perform integration of hardware and software modules, including low-level troubleshooting
  • Support system testing and automated software verification on embedded platforms
  • Analyze and document test data and communicate results to engineering teams
  • Assist in technical presentations and contribute to solution development
  • Collaborate with design engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and confidentiality standards at all times

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and experience with Python for scripting and tooling
  • Hands-on experience with embedded Linux and system-level programming
  • Solid understanding of digital electronics and hardware-software interfaces
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in embedded environments (hardware and software)
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD or equivalent security clearance

Preferred:

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability embedded systems
  • Familiarity with automated test frameworks and data acquisition tools
  • Prior exposure to EOIR or satellite imaging systems is a plus
