Business Analyst

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for systems and applications.

Conduct detailed analysis of insurance processes, including policy administration, claims processing, underwriting, and billing, to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Work closely with technical teams to ensure requirements are translated into effective solutions.

Develop and maintain functional specifications, use cases, and process flow diagrams specific to insurance workflows.

Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

Perform gap analysis between current and desired states of systems.

Support testing efforts by creating test cases, validating results, and ensuring alignment with business requirements.

Provide training and support to end-users on new or updated functionalities.

Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders and management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in Mainframe projects within the insurance industry.

Strong understanding of Mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.

In-depth knowledge of insurance processes, including policy administration, claims, underwriting, and billing systems.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in business process modeling and documentation tools.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders and technical teams.

Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.

Excellent Finnish and English skills (mandatory)

You are resident in Finland (mandatory)

Preferred Skills

Experience with tools like IBM Rational, HP ALM, or similar.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the insurance industry.

Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is a plus.

Familiarity with insurance-specific software and platforms.
