Project Manager

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Project Manager with a strong background in Mechanical Engineering to join our team in Dordrecht. As a Project Manager at ALTEN Netherlands, you will lead multidisciplinary project teams on national and international engineering projects, managing the development and delivery of complex mechanical systems often supported by software tools like MATLAB.

Your main tasks will include:

• Defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, covering new product development and ongoing product support.
• Leading project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management activities to guarantee timely delivery.
• Supporting technical teams, especially in mechanical engineering and software integration, including MATLAB-based simulation.
• Maintaining effective communication between all parties to align expectations and progress.
• Preparing project reports, tracking key performance indicators, and ensuring proper documentation.
• Liaising with manufacturing and development partners to ensure smooth transitions from design to production.

Your Profile

• You hold a completed HBO or WO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• You have 5+ years’ experience in project management within engineering or R&D environments.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and product development processes.
• Experience with MATLAB and knowledge of software development practices are advantageous.
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies; certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage effectively with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.
