Remedy Entertainment, the creator of Control®, Quantum Break®, Max Payne®, Alan Wake® and Death Rally®, and one of the leading independent game studios in the world, is looking for a talented Principal Gameplay Designer to work on our title FBC: Firebreak.
Remedy is seeking an experienced Gameplay Designer to join the FBC: Firebreak team, our first multiplayer experience. The ideal candidate is highly technical, with a history of creating captivating co-op combat.

What you'll get to do
- Lead and Innovate: Own and drive the delivery of player and combat systems for Remedy’s first 1st-Person Multiplayer Action Game.
- Create and Collaborate: Become a vital part of the gameplay team, working closely with designers, engineers, and animators to iterate and deliver exceptional core combat systems.
- Communicate and Inspire: Use your excellent communication skills to act as the focal point for the features you own, sharing the vision and helping other crafts realize their potential through feedback systems.
- Plan and Execute: Ensure your features are delivered on time and to an exceptional level of quality.
- Mentor and Guide: Mentor and review the work of design team members, encouraging excellence.
What you bring to this role
- Proven Expertise: Experience driving core game features from concept to release, with a strong background in combat systems, including AI, and having shipped one or more titles in a similar role.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to understand complex concepts and create first-pass technical implementations of features.
- Design Acumen: A solid understanding of rational game design principles and the role of AI in creating satisfying combat encounters.
- Team Spirit: Enjoy working in a friendly team environment, giving and receiving constructive feedback, and being dedicated to improving your craft.
- Holistic Understanding: Strong knowledge of different areas of the production pipeline (e.g. game design, animation, cinematics, audio, VFX) and how they come together to create a cohesive and exciting gameplay experience.
- Craft Advocate: A passion for learning and actively sharing your experiences with other studio members.
- Agile Experience: Familiarity with Agile development frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
