Cyber Security Specialist

• 12 months contract
• You can be based in Canberra or Brisbane
• Must have NV1 security clearance

About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cyber Security Assurance and Risk Analyst to join our federal government client. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering enterprise-wide security governance, risk assurance, audit, and compliance. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the organisation's cyber security strategic objectives are achieved, while enabling the business to operate effectively.

Your duties will include:

• Provide expert cyber security advice to stakeholders to support their security assurance and risk management responsibilities.
• Manage and produce quality reports and advice on control effectiveness.
• Assist programs of work through the certification and accreditation process.
• Participate as a security subject matter expert (SME) on RFQ/RFI panels and attend Change Advisory Board meetings as the security representative.
• Perform quality control of vendor security-related deliverables and assist in maintaining information security standards.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills and Experience Required

• Formal industry or academic qualifications in an ICT discipline or Cyber Security are highly desirable.
• Industry-recognised qualifications such as CISSP, CISA, CRISC, or CGEIT are essential.
• Strong understanding of information security risk and control environments.
• Experience in using GRC and CIRRIS toolsets to manage risk and assurance outcomes.
• Proven ability to provide specialist cyber security assurance and risk management advice.
