Settlement – Business Analyst

Location: Qatar

Client: Banking Sector

Contract: 6 Months (Extendable based on project requirements)

Budget: QAR 17000K (Based on experience)

We are urgently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Settlement Business Analyst to join a leading banking institution. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with strong settlement and reconciliation expertise, particularly in retail banking, to play a key role in optimizing financial systems and processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business requirements, workflows (As-Is/To-Be), and functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement optimized business processes and solutions.
  • Analyze and support reconciliation workflows, enhancing automation and exception management controls.
  • Coordinate UAT activities to ensure alignment between business requirements and IT deliverables.
  • Support the automation of manual settlement processes, ensuring accuracy and control.
  • Contribute to the development of financial dashboards and reconciliation models.
  • Perform gap and impact analysis, develop business cases, and facilitate workshops with business users.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to translate business needs into functional system changes.


Mandatory Requirements

  • Proven experience in settlement processes (local & international) within the banking domain.
  • Strong knowledge of issuing and acquiring systems – including debit, credit, POS, e-commerce, and disputes.
  • Familiarity with card scheme files (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB, Diners, CUP) and message formats.
  • Solid understanding of scheme rules, fees, and transaction flows.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles: GL, P&L, accounts payable/receivable, FX impacts.
  • Experience in managing clearing and settlement of card scheme files, and preparation of financial reports.
  • Expertise in suspense account management and reconciliation controls.
  • Proficient in database management, data modeling, and financial data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to automate manual processes with strong control mechanisms.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and coordination skills.
  • Experience with financial settlement software and global standards.
